Strategic Plan 2025-2028
Newman Regional Health’s 2025-2028 strategic plan aims to enhance patient care delivery, foster innovation, and strengthen the health of our community. Our commitment to the strategic imperatives reflects our dedication to achieving a higher standard of healthcare delivery and reinforcing our position as a leading healthcare provider in the greater Emporia area and our region.
Newman Regional Health employees, medical staff, and community stakeholders participated in our 2024 strategic planning process. Starting in November 2023, an aspirational view was drafted followed by collaborative efforts to create six imperatives that will guide future operations. The six imperatives are supported by the foundation of our core values. Our core values represent our commitment to how we work and will be what sustains our culture of service excellence and quality.
We work with Empathy – Empathy involves recognizing and experiencing the emotions of others, and sharing a genuine desire to alleviate their suffering. Empathy is a core value in building relationships, increasing trust, improving communication, creating a positive environment, and improving health outcomes.
We are Collaborative – Collaboration involves team members working together to make decisions and achieve a common goal. Collaboration values diverse perspectives and insights and encourages open
communication and feedback.
We work with Humility – Humility is the ability to be self-aware, recognize others’ strengths, and be open to innovative ideas and feedback. Humility inspires teams and encourages unity, creating a culture of trust and respect.
We work with Integrity – Integrity is having strong moral principles, doing the right thing, and standing by your words. Integrity demonstrates consistency between actions and words, even when it is difficult or unpopular.
We work with a Commitment to Service Excellence – Service excellence is consistently providing high-quality service to the team, patients, and partners. It involves fostering a culture of exceptional customer service, setting high standards for performance, and continuously striving to exceed expectations.
Our six strategic imperatives support Newman Regional Health’s strategic framework, ensuring we thrive in our dynamic and competitive landscape. Each imperative is accompanied with objectives and tactics that will move us toward achieving our goals as your healthcare partner; helping you Achieve Healthy Goals!
Imperative 1
NRH will expand services across the primary and secondary service areas by steadily building positive relationships within communities and providing education about the services and capabilities of Newman Regional Health and Newman Regional Health Medical Partners.
Imperative 2
We will relentlessly pursue top quality measures in national and statewide categories.
Imperative 3
We will become an employer of choice that prioritizes a culture of empathy, collaboration, humility, integrity, and service excellence. We will maintain a commitment to continuous improvement by building a culture where we learn together.
Imperative 4
We will prioritize our local and regional relationships within education, industry, employers, community stakeholder groups and healthcare partners by fostering strategic care pathways and offering
services based on needs and community initiatives.
Imperative 5
We will work to build and maintain safe and secure technical operations and applications, enabling the delivery of high quality care efficiently and safety. By leveraging advanced technologies and integrated systems, we enhance patient outcomes, effectively manage costs, and remain at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
Imperative 6
We will invest in the campus infrastructure and hospital design. The healthcare space is fundamental to delivering high-quality patient care and creating a supportive environment for both patients and staff. A
well-designed hospital enhances the overall healthcare experience, improves clinical outcomes, ensures operational efficiency, and fosters a strong connection with the community.
