From the CEO of Newman Regional Health

As we reflect on last week’s celebration of National Hospital Week, I am reminded of a deeper truth: healthcare is not just a system or service—it is people caring for people.

At Newman Regional Health, we don’t just care for our patients and community; we care about them. This distinction—between treating conditions and truly valuing those we serve—defines who we are and how we serve this community. 

Each day, our physicians, nurses, therapists, technicians, and support teams come to work with purpose. We bring knowledge, skill, and most importantly—heart. Whether it’s holding a hand through a life-changing diagnosis or celebrating a new beginning, we are there. We bring hope in life’s hardest moments and joy in its brightest ones.

Healthcare means embracing challenges.  It means being brave enough to try something new and humble enough to ask, listen, and learn. It means showing up with consistency, empathy, and a quiet strength that says: “You are not alone.”

Our team brings their best every day – not perfection, but something more powerful: commitment.  That “best” allows us to honor the promises we make today while building a healthier, stronger tomorrow.

Expanding Access & Innovation

• Welcoming four new providers to broaden local access
• Expanding Telemedicine to connect patients with specialized care and follow-up services
• Upgrading electronic patient records so healthcare providers can easily and safely share information across different care locations.
• Investing $3 Million in diagnostic tools, including a new CT scanner and state-of-the-art Cardiovascular Lab

Supporting Our Healthcare Team

• Strengthening staff wellness, retention, and professional development
• Equipping our team with the tools, training, and support they need to continue serving with excellence and empathy

Advancing Health Equity

• Addressing social determinants of health such as food insecurity and transportation gaps
• Building community partnerships to ensure equitable access to vital resources

Advocating for Rural Healthcare

• Leading state and federal advocacy efforts to safeguard rural hospitals and support sustainable healthcare policy
