Hospice Care
Hospice Care is a philosophy of care that provides holistic services for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients with terminal or end-of-life illnesses. Hospice services are most often provided in the patient's own home, assisted living facility, or nursing home.
The hospice philosophy rests on the belief that as we approach the end of life, each of us has the right to pass away with dignity and without pain, and that our loved ones deserve the necessary support to allow us to do so. Hospice focuses on providing comfort-oriented care and pain relief for patients facing a terminal illness. By placing an emphasis on quality of life and providing expert symptom management, hospice care allows patients to spend time focusing on the things that are the most important and meaningful to them.
