As the only Level IV Trauma Center in the region, Newman Regional Health delivers critical emergency care to Emporia and surrounding communities. Our team is trained in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), ensuring patients receive rapid evaluation, stabilization, and diagnostic services before transfer to a higher-level trauma center, if needed.

The Trauma Center operates around the clock with emergency physicians, trauma nurses, and full laboratory support always available. Surgical and critical-care services are offered on site, while established transfer agreements connect patients to Level I or II Trauma Centers when more comprehensive care is required.

Additional Emergency Services

Some patients may require special observation or transport. The Clinical Decision Unit provides special attention to emergency department patients needing further management or inpatient admission for conditions such as chest pain, suspected heart attack, stroke, gastrointestinal disorders and more. We also provide critical care emergency transport by ground and helicopter when specialized treatment is needed beyond our hospital.
