Better Sleep-Better Health: High Quality Care
Newman Regional Health Sleep Disorders Center is proud to announce the recent renewal of its accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Sleep disorders affect millions of people worldwide and can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. However, many individuals suffer from conditions such as sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome, which can impair their daily activities.
Accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine ensures that the sleep lab is nationally recognized for meeting high standards of quality and care.
At the Newman Regional Health Sleep Disorders Center, patients are evaluated and treated through a combination of in-lab testing, home testing, and personalized treatment plans. The goal is to identify sleep disorders early, treat them effectively, and help patients achieve better sleep and improved health.
Meet the Team at the Newman Regional Health Sleep Disorders Center
Dr. Victor Salloum, MD, of Pulmonary and Sleep Consultants of Kansas, is the medical director of the sleep center. Dr. Salloum is board certified in Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Salloum has extensive experience in conditions like Asphyxia and Hypoxemia, Sleep Apnea and Shortness of Breath.
The Sleep Disorders Center is managed by Sheila Miller, RRT, who is also a registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT), commonly known as a sleep technologist. Sheila plays a crucial role assisting with the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders by performing sleep studies, monitoring patients, analyzing data, and educating patients on sleep conditions, treatment options, and device use—such as CPAP machines.
Assisting Sheila with in-lab testing is Amanda Hunninghake, RPSGT.
