Thank a Nurse with The Daisy Award®
Share your story!
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award® is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a nurse made a difference you will never forget!
The DAISY Award® program was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away in 1999 from complications of ITP. During his hospitalization, his family was profoundly grateful not only for the clinical expertise of his nurses but also for the extraordinary compassion they showed to Pat and his loved ones. After his passing, Pat's family felt compelled to express their gratitude in a meaningful way — and so, the DAISY Award was born. Today, this program honors exceptional nurses in more than 4,800 healthcare facilities worldwide.
Honorees are nominated by patients, families, or colleagues and chosen by a committee of their peers. DAISY Honorees receive a certificate, DAISY Award® pin, and hand-carved “Healers Touch” sculpture. Nominees receive a beautiful daisy pin.
