Coordination of Benefits for patients with more than one insurer
Coordination of benefits is a process used by health insurance plans to determine payer pays first when a patient is covered by more than one health plan. Coordination of benefits helps reduce denials and ensures claims are paid correctly.
Are you a Medicare Beneficiary?
If you are covered by Medicare and have more than one health plan, please contact Medicare’s Coordination of Benefit department at (855) 798-2627.
Are you a Medicaid Beneficiary?
If you are covered by Medicaid and have more than one health plan, please contact the KMAP clearinghouse at 1-800-766-9012.
Are you covered by more than one Blue Cross Blue Shield Policy?
Contact the customer service phone number located on the back of your insurance card and ask to speak to the Coordination of Benefit’s department.

Additionally, insurance companies offer a variety of plans and may change the names and benefits at any point. Your level of coverage depends on the specific benefits outlined in your plan.
To ensure that Newman Regional Health (NRH) and Newman Regional Health Medical Partners (NRHMP) is in-network, it is your responsibility to verify that NRH & NRHMP are participating providers and your benefit plan provides coverage for your visit and/or admission. There may be additional services and providers that are separate and apart from the hospital (EX: Anesthesia, Pathology, Radiology.) Contact your insurance plan to obtain this information.
