Temporary Newborn Visitation Restrictions Activated for Newman Regional Health
(EMPORIA, KS) We are seeing an increase in respiratory illnesses in our community. To protect our tiniest patients, children under the age of 12 will not be allowed to visit the newborn inpatient areas.
Siblings can gain permission to visit after they have been screened by a nurse for symptoms of a cold or fever.
We are asking that all our visitors be healthy. Please do not visit if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, or diarrhea, or if you have been exposed to someone with these symptoms within the past seven days.
All healthy visitors should clean their hands before and after each patient visit using alcohol hand sanitizer or soap & water.
If you are coming to the hospital as a patient and have symptoms of the flu (fever, cough/sneezing, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose), please put on a mask. There are masks located at all guest entrances for patients to use.
These restrictions will last for the duration of flu season (possibly into March/April).
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation. This greatly assists in community safety!
