Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants provide an integral service in the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. The goal of physical therapy is to improve the patient's functional ability to a level that will allow for the most productive lifestyle. The staff at Newman Regional Health provide post surgical care of total joint replacement and hip fractures and rehabilition following stroke, debilitating disease, or an illness. Therapists also work with wound care patients and patients with amputations in the Wound Care Clinic. Orthopedic and neurologic outpatients are seen at Emporia Physical Therapy. Sports physical therapy and industrial rehabilitation are important components of the outpatient program. Worksite ergonomic and prevention programs are also developed specific to the needs of the business.
