Newman Regional Health is committed to providing high quality healthcare to the people of Lyon County and the surrounding communities. For over 89 years, Newman Regional Health has expanded to meet the needs of a growing community and has established a tradition of excellent health care in east central Kansas. Centrally located within the city of Emporia, Newman Regional Health is a 99 bed governmental entity operated on a not-for-profit basis and is accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program. Although we are a county hospital, we receive no financial support from Lyon County. The hospital is supported by donations and payment for services. Newman Regional Health remains a local hospital; owned by the people of Lyon County and governed by a Board of Trustees made up of community leaders.

Over 500 employees, 300 volunteers, and 130 physicians, of which 28 are on our active medical staff, and many other professionals make up the patient care team at Newman Regional Health. The hospital provides a wide range of medical and surgical services as well as women’s services, critical care, level II nursery, 24 hour emergency services, sleep center, wound care, outpatient services, chemical dependency treatment programs, and hospice services. Newman Regional Health is a teaching hospital and is home to the ESU Newman Division of Nursing.

Located in the heart of the famous Bluestem Region, Emporia, Kansas is known as the Front Porch to the Flint Hills.
