What Is The Newman Regional Health Foundation? The Newman Regional Health Foundation was formed in 1957 to receive donations to benefit the hospital, primarily to benefit the School of Nursing. It became a 501 (C) (9) non-profit charitable corporation in 1999 and broadened its goals to help all of Lyon County and surrounding counties with health care needs. What Is The Mission Of The Foundation? The Newman Regional Health Foundation’s mission is to enhance and support quality health care of the people of Lyon County and the surrounding counties by encouraging, receiving, and managing gifts which support the development and delivery of health care services, health education, outreach and prevention programs, charity care, and scientific research. Who Donates To The Foundation? Donors of all types, (individuals, corporations, agencies, and private foundations) can give to provide for their charitable intentions now and into the future. There are many different ways to donate: annual giving, memoriams and honorariums, end of year for tax planning, and planned giving by naming the Foundation in your will as the recipient of a portion of your estate. How Does The Foundation Benefit Our Area? Health care is constantly changing with new diagnostic tools, equipment and techniques for treatment. The Foundation can help the hospital keep abreast of these changes. We can help in those areas that make the hospital a special and inviting place. This aid may not be possible for the administration to approve from their tight budget. We can continue to aid in scholarships for our nursing students and for other health care specialists. We can try and improve health care knowledge with prevention programs such as our Immunization Awareness Campaign this past year. If our area has better health care knowledge, then we can be a healthier region which benefits everyone. How Can I Support The Foundation?
