What is an Employee Assistance Program?

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a counseling service for employees and their eligible family members who are experiencing personal or work place problems. You may reach EAP by calling 620-343-2727. Services are provided by qualified EAP counselors at Newman Regional Health or at your place of business.

Perhaps now more than ever, stress on and off the job pose a threat to the health and productivity of your employees. Nationwide, an estimated 18% of employees face personal problems which lead to increased use of healthcare benefits, worker’s compensation claims, theft, absenteeism, and decreased productivity. Depression accounts for $12 billion a year in lost work days. Untreated personal problems cost organizations an average of $900 per employee per year.

Life can bring us many different challenges. Most of the time, we handle these challenges and work out our problems. But sometimes they can seem overwhelming and we don’t know where to turn for answers. The professionals at Newman Regional Health EAP can help you resolve these issues, before they get any worse. The EAP provides you with access to professional counseling services while keeping your information confidential.
