6th Annual Denim & Diamonds Benefit raises $69,000!
Newman Regional Health Foundation is excited to announce that $69,000 in net proceeds was raised through the 6th Annual Denim & Diamonds Benefit, held August 7, 2015.
Webb Hall in the Memorial Union of Emporia State University was filled with 325 guests enjoying an evening that included a silent and mini live auction and dancing to the sounds of Element Variety Band. Emporia native, Mike Law, professionally, Mike Kennedy of Q104 FM in Kansas City, served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening, presiding over the short program and assisting auctioneer Brenda Doudican of Ek Real Estate, during the silent and live auction. Steve Vaughn was the winner of the custom designed diamond ring donated by Kari’s Diamonds.
The event continues to grow each year which reflects the value placed in Newman Regional Health and the services it provides for the community. “The excitement and participation generated throughout the hospital and the community in response to this event is great. We are thrilled with the outcome of this year’s Denim & Diamonds. All previous records were broken, both in money raised and in attendance. It is a tribute to the community and its support of our local hospital,” states Jodi Heermann, Executive Director of the Newman Regional Health Foundation.
Everyone involved helped make Denim & Diamonds a wonderful and memorable event. The Newman Regional Health Foundation is proud to assist Newman Regional Health in its mission to keep care local. The community’s support of the Foundation is an investment in the healthcare of our families, friends and neighbors. Funds raised are designated to new centralized electronic fetal monitoring technology in the Women’s Life Center and future Foundation projects. This state-of-the-art technology for fetal monitoring will allow all patients in labor in the Women’s Life Center to be monitored simultaneously through an electronic system that allows fetal heart rate and contraction pattern to be recorded and shown in real-time on a computer monitor and record all directly into the hospital’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR). This technology offers significant benefit to baby and mother, physicians, and nursing staff.
